Group IT Policy

The Purpose of the Information Technology & Systems Policy

Our Group is committed to offering its employees modern, efficient and pleasant work surroundings. It aims to ensure the provision of an up-to-date Information Technology environment, which is continuously updated, in order to adequately meet existing as well as future business requirements and challenges. The overall business philosophy of the Group is to create and support high-performing and interactive teamwork within the Group, where each individual conducts business with responsibility, integrity, and authority.

This Information Technology & Systems Policy aims to facilitate this proactive approach; concurrently, it strives to protect the interests of each Group Company and its employees by providing the relevant guidelines and principles for the proper usage of the equipment & software systems within the Group. The term “equipment & software systems” is understood to cover all areas relating to

  1. Information Protection and Intellectual Property Rights
  2. Software, Hardware and Network Standards
  3. Internet Access and Browsing
  4. Use of E-mail
  5. Virus Identification and Protection
  6. Data Backup
  7. Network Security and Access Control

Each Group Company carries the responsibility to ensure compliance with this policy through its Information Technology (“IT”) department. The term “IT department” is used throughout the document and refers to the designated person or persons in each Group Company with the responsibility for all ITrelated matters. In some companies, there is no self-standing IT department; however, there will always be a designated executive with IT responsibility. In the context of this policy, this person constitutes the IT department.

Employees violating the Information Technology & Systems Policy must be reported to the IT department. They will be subject to appropriate disciplinary action, whereby they must personally accept any financial or other liabilities that arise as a consequence of their behavior. In any event, any criminal or civil penalties that arise out of a breach of this policy will be imposed on the person(s) concerned, not the employer. Moreover, if the violation is deemed serious, the person(s) would have to be reported to the Senior Management, who might consider further action.
